The first thing is to know about Professional Year Program. The PYP is a well-structured program that focuses on the professional growth of aspiring students by providing them with relevant practical training and introducing them to a possible career path. It is for international students who have graduated from an Australian university. The PYP was introduced to ensure that the supply of skilled workers in the sectors such as accounting, IT, and engineering is sufficient. Professional Year Programs are primarily designed for students wishing to apply for permanent residency in Australia. You will need to have completed a degree in accounting, computer science, or engineering (or a closely related area) in Australia to enroll in PYP.

Who are eligible for a Professional year?

  • You must hold a degree in one of the following Fields – Accounting, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • You must be holding a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) allowing you to remain in Australia for at least 18 months after completing your degree.
  • You must be below the age of 50 and finished your degree from an approved educational institute.
  • You must also possess the relevant skills and qualifications as per the Skilled Occupation List.
